Reasons Why I Love Living in Austin

There are countless reasons why I love living in Austin, and I could list them all day long. But here are just a few of the top reasons why I am so happy to call this city my home:

Austin is the fastest-growing large city in America.

As of July 1, 2015, Austin was the 11th-largest city in the United States, with a population of 912,791. In the previous year alone, the city’s population had grown by 2.1 percent, making it the fastest-growing large city in America.

We’re crazy about local businesses.

The city of Austin is known for having one of the most robust economies in the country, with low unemployment rates and a thriving small business scene that consists of more than 30,000 locally owned businesses. The owners of these small businesses are often passionate about their products, services, and customers, which creates an incredible community.

It has a lower cost of living than other major cities.

As of January 2016, the cost of living in Austin was 5.5 percent lower than the national average, and it’s continuing to grow. Compared to other major cities like Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco, Austin is a more affordable place to live with a much higher quality of life.

The food scene is incredible, with chefs opening up new restaurants every day.

The food scene in Austin is incredible, with chefs opening up new restaurants every day. My favorite places to eat include Hillside Farmacy, Odd Duck, Lamberts, and Lenoir. These restaurants serve up some of the most delicious food I’ve ever had, and I’m always excited to try out new places.

There are tons of festivals to choose from, including SXSW and ACL Fest.

There are a ton of festivals to choose from in Austin, including SXSW and ACL Fest. These festivals are a great way to experience the city’s culture and meet new people. I’ve met so many amazing people who live in this city simply by attending festivals.

Living here makes it easy to get outside and enjoy nature.

The beautiful Texas Hill Country surrounds Austin, and there are endless opportunities for hiking, biking, and camping. I absolutely love taking my dog on hikes in Zilker Park and enjoying a nice cold drink in the warm summer sun on one of Barton Springs Pool’s three diving platforms.

You don’t need to own a car.

If you don’t want to own a car, there’s no need because public transportation is available for all kinds of things like commuting or going out on weekends. The city’s public transportation system, Capital Metro, offers buses, light rails, and commuter rails that can take you wherever you need to go.

The weather is perfect year-round.

This is definitely one of my favorite things about living in Austin. The weather is perfect year-round, and it’s never too hot or too cold. This makes it easy to enjoy all of the city’s amazing outdoor activities year-round.

Summary

There are countless reasons why I love living in Austin, and I could list them all day long. And these are just a few of the top reasons I am so happy to call this city my home. If you’re looking for an amazing city to live in, Austin should be at the top of your list!
